The circular economy plans and activities overlap in the metropolitan region of Amsterdam and the province of North Holland. More and more people see this as an opportunity for a reset to a post-corona economy. If we want to move to a new economy, it must be done quickly, while much is still uncertain. So how do we actually combine change with research, learning, entrepreneurship and innovations? And what can we all do tomorrow?
This online festival consisted of a keynote by Kate Raworth (author Doughnut Economics) and a panel discussion with Zita Pels (Provincial Executive Circular Economy of Noord-Holland), Ineke Bussemaker (dean Hogeschool van Amsterdam), Marieke Blom (chief economist ING) and Herman Mulder (SDG Charter). Followed by multiple specific tracks, with parallel sessions and a joint ‘virtual drink’.
The live online festival New Economy Now was well attended on 16 June. A strong panel talked about the donut economics principles and their impact on policy. In addition, in the various tracks there has been attention for all doers. This resulted in interesting discussions, but also connections between these do-ers. We want to thank everyone for their presence and input!
For those who could not attend, the plenary program can be viewed here.

New Economy Now is a collaboration between several partners, including the GO! -NH program of the province of North Holland, the Amsterdam Donut Coalition and the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. GO! -NH and the Amsterdam Donut Coalition have again organized an exciting collaboration in 2021. During the renewed programs of GO! -NH, a Donut Challenge will be organized, at which companies can register and participate in one of the acceleration programs of GO! -NH.
Festive kick-off GO!-NH 2021
The festive online kick-off of the renewed GO! -NH program will take place on 26 November from 3.30 pm to 5 pm, live from the H20 Rabo Esports Campus in Purmerend.
